Roadmap to the CompTIA trifecta
In 2021, I changed careers and went into tech. I had no experience or formal education in IT or computer science. My friend who works in tech told me the best way to break into IT was to get some CompTIA certifications under my belt and look for jobs afterward. I documented my experience of studying for and passing all of these exams, my overall experience with landing my first job in IT, and what lessons I learned along the way.
I benefited so much from others who had shared their own experiences so I wanted to do the same and share roadmaps to what helped me find success in obtaining the CompTIA “trifecta” and successfully breaking into this new field. I hope this experience can help others who may be in a similar situation as I was when I began.
